The version of Umbraco CMS that powers your website (version 13) reaches end of life in December 2026. That means it will no longer get updates or security support from Umbraco.
CMS upgrades are included in your subscription, so we are getting ahead of the deadline and upgrading your site to the latest long-term-support (LTS) version, Umbraco 17. LTS versions get security fixes for years, not months.
What this means for you:
- Under-the-hood improvements, plus a rebuilt editing area (the "backoffice") for CMS users
- Your website's front end and public-facing appearance will stay exactly the same
- All development and testing is complete and we are ready to roll out the update
- Downtime is expected to be under 15 minutes
- There is no extra cost. It is included in your LOOP package
This is a significant update to the whole codebase. It future proofs your site and means we can roll out patches and updates more quickly, which matters as AI-driven attacks grow more sophisticated.
Did you know, some agencies are quoting £7k, £10k, even £15k for this Umbraco upgrade. It's a big one, but our LOOP Subscription model means that you get it bundled in to the package. No big surprise costs.
